Public Safety Dispatcher

The Natick Police Department has
immediate openings for several permanent part-time public safety dispatchers
in the 9-1-1 Communications Center. Part-time dispatchers perform all duties
of full-time dispatcher on a part-time basis and work approximately two
(8-hour) shifts per week not to exceed 1040 hours per year.
Duties include answering all 911 and
business telephone lines for police and fire departments and dispatching
police, fire and EMS units to incidents. Dispatchers also deal with the
public coming into the police building. Successful applicant must have
superior communication and customer service skills, the ability to organize
tasks according to established priority guidelines and to work under
sometimes stressful conditions. Prior dispatching experience or knowledge of
IMC Public Safety software considered a plus. Candidates must be willing to
commit to continuous training at start to become proficient in all duties
and responsibilities and are subject to criminal records check. This
position works nights, weekends and holidays. Starting salary is $17.17 per
hour.
